Description

A watercolour portrait of Major-General Sir Henry Bentinck of the Coldstream Guards, who is depicted wearing the undress frock of a General of the Brigade of Guards. Signed and dated bottom right: F. Cruickshank / 1855.

The watercolour is based on a photograph by Roger Fenton, taken on 18 January 1855, also in the Royal Collection (RCIN 2506573).
