A caricature showing a lady having her towering hairstyle dressed by a hairdresser on a ladder. Over the course of the 1760s women's hairstyles started to rise in both Britain and France, with the hair assembled into a bun on the top of the head and height introduced over the forehead. The height and complexity would increase during the 1770s, peaking around the middle of the decade.
