A brown wash drawing heightened with gold formerly attributed to Raphael, now ascribed to Jacopo Ligozzi. Showing St John the Baptist on the far right, preaching to a multitude of male listeners arranged in several groups.
The drawing corresponds in composition with a painting by Raphael (1505) now in the National Gallery, London (inv. no.NG 6480), the only surviving scene from the predella of his so-called 'Ansidei Altarpiece', the central panel of which is also in the London National Gallery (inv. no.NG 1171).Provenance
