A portrait drawing of Margaret, Lady Butts (c.1485-1545), wife of Sir William Butts, and daughter of John Bacon. She served as a lady-in-waiting to Princess Mary and belonged to the circle of Queen Katherine Parr. A bust length portrait facing three-quarters to the left. She wears a gabled headdress and fur collar. Inscribed in an eighteenth-century hand at upper left: The Lady Buts. A related painting is in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston.
