A drawing of a hilly landscape in which a tree dominates the central foreground. A man kneels near a tree stump on the right and a woman with a basket stands near him. On the left a man carries a long log while another crouches. Cows are herded on a ridge beyond.
This is a copy of Ricci's etching (Bartsch 14). A drawing by Ricci for the etching in reverse with some variations is RCIN 991165.Provenance
Probably acquired in 1762 by George III from the collection of Joseph Smith, British Consul in Venice
