-
A drawing of Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome. In the centre is an obelisk. On the right is a large palazzo. Beyond the palazzo, on the left, is the Scala Santa. To the left of that are the remains of the aqueduct of Nero, leading to the Palatine. Many figures are shown in the piazza. The drawing is enclosed within a ruled ink border line. There is a very similar drawing by Canaletto in the British Museum (1858,0626.241). Bellotto made an oil painting of the same view in c.1743-4, which is now in a private collection.
