A black chalk, pen and ink and wash drawing of Nathan rebuking King David, with an angel above. Inscribed on the verso: No. 82 JS. This is a study for the whole composition of Ricci's painting David rebuked by Nathan for the Sala dell'Alcova in the Palazzo Reale, Turin in 1728. An oil study of the painting was at the Heim Gallery, London in 1969 (Daniels, no. 192). There are 16 drawings relating to the composition in the Windsor album (RCINs 907053-907068).
