A pen and ink and wash drawing of a centaur holding a lion cub. A study for the painting The Centaur Family. There are several variants of a set of eight paintings in the Palazzo Taverna (formerly Palazzo Gabrielli) in Rome, painted for Marchese Pietro Gabrielli some time after his marriage in Venice in 1717 to Maria Teresa, daughter of Conte Ludovico di Valvasone. Other drawings for the same painting are RCIN 907112 and 907036.
