A pen and ink drawing of Archimedes being stabbed by a soldier. A preparatory study for Ricci's painting of the Death of Archimedes, Palazzo Vidman-Foscari, Venice, probably dated about 1695. In the painting the composition is reversed. Another drawing for the painting is RCIN 907029.
