A pen and ink drawing of a soldier lunging forward with a knife. A preparatory study for the soldier in Ricci's painting of the Death of Archimedes, Palazzo Vidman-Foscari, Venice, probably dated about 1695. A drawing for the whole composition, reversed, is RCIN 907030.
