A pen and ink and wash drawing of a reclining or fainting woman, holding an urn or bowl behind her. Inscribed on the verso with a fragment of a draft of a letter: Cave Amico. Vena 21 Marzo 1722. Quando venirete a Venezia trovarete il vostro Quadro terminato. Io so che vi piacerà [Cavaliere Amico. Venice 21 March 1722. When you come to Venice you will find your painting completed. I know this will please you] and No. 67 JS. The subject is possibly the death of Sophonisba, who has just taken poison.
