  • A study of the head, torso and left arm of a reclining figure, copied from Michelanglo's Last Judgement; individual studies of an eye and part of the breast.

This drawing focuses on the head, torso and left arm of a reclining figure in the left foreground of the Last Judgment, close to the man that is stepping of the ground.

Figino seems to not have been interested in capturing the drapery or the unique facial expression found in the original fresco. The combination of smooth modelling and heavily muscled proportions emphasises the sculptural quality of the figure in Michelangelo’s painting –the detail of the drawing could not have been taken from a printed copy of the fresco. The structures of the arm are so minutely faithful to the original that he probably executed it in situ. Figino could have had access to portions of cartoons for the fresco, too.

The central drawing of the chest is juxtaposed with another study of the same figure's hand. The slightly larger scale of the hand study suggests that it may have been executed at a different time to the main figure. At upper left and right studies of the figure's left breast and eye respectively can be found.
