A drawing of a group of figures before a temple: a king stands on the right directing the sacrifice of a lamb and other animals, which are about to be slaughtered on the left. In the centre, the priest and his attendants stand near the tripod.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv. A, p. 128: 'Guglielmo Burgognone a Cotempory of Carlo Maratti. Baccicia. Baldi. and others of inferior note')
