A drawing of the Virgin and the hight priest standing on steps before the altar, as they support the infant Christ between them. Below, Joseph kneels on the right holding doves, while several figures surround the Holy Family, and winged putti watch from above. Inscribed: Gio : Batta. Lennardi.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 128: 'Guglielmo Burgognone a Cotempory of Carlo Maratti. Baccicia. Baldi. and others of inferior note')
