A drawing of the Risen Christ, borne upon clouds supported by putti, appearing to St Thomas Aquinas. The scene takes place at the altar of a church. Two putti look down from above. This is a study for a fresco by Franceschini, in a room in the convent connected with the church of San Domenico, Bologna.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; listed in George III's 'Inventory A,' c.1800, p.128 ('Moderna Schuola Romana / Tom. II.'): '30. Of Bacicia Galli, Lazzaro Baldi, Baglione &ca:'
