Provenance
First recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 121v: 'Page 23 [and] 24 Van der Meulen'). A drawing by Van der Meulen was purchased by the Prince of Wales (later George IV) in 1804 (RA 27265; Colnaghi's invoice, 8 June 1804: 'A Drawing by Vandermeulen' @ £ I Is)
