A drawing of a view of classical ruins with, near the centre, a pair of columns linked by an architrave. To the right there is a section of a ruined bridge or viaduct, and in the distance, on the left is a domed church.
Most of the main features represented in this drawing all occur, in reverse, in a painting by Ricci in the Ciriello Collection.Provenance
Probably acquired in 1762 by George III from the collection of Joseph Smith, British Consul in Venice
