A drawing of a landscape with a river on the left flowing towards buildings; with clumps of trees between hillocks on the right bank, and two pairs of figures.
The main part of this drawing is in pen and bistre, but the tree on the right is continued to the top of the sheet in black chalk. It is described in Royal Collection Inventory A as 'Lombard', which at that date (c. 1800-20) could be taken to include Venetian. It is by one of the imitators of Titian's landscape drawings in the very early years of the seventeenth century.Provenance
