A design for the rear of a coach for an entrada in Rome; showing the left-hand side with the Chigi arms enclosed in a circle and supported by putti. See also RCIN 905617, 905618, 904463.
Schor also designed carriages given by Pope Alexander VII to Queen Christina of Sweden on the occasion of her triumphal entry into Rome in 1655.Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv. A, p. 114, as by Bernini: 'Two Carrs')
