A drawing of a scene of men working energetically outside the walls of Carthage; with Mercury, hovering above Aeneas, in the act of warning him of his duty. Ships can be seen in the background. This drawing was formerly placed within the Bernini volumes.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 114: 'Compositions, some Historical')
