A drawing of five airborne angels carrying the column of the Flagellation. Popham (in P&W): 'The drawing, [previously] attributed to Parmigianino, shows the easily recognised mannerisms of Marco da Faenza.'
Provenance
From an album listed in George III’s Inventory A, c.1800-20, p. 53, ‘Perino. del Vaga, Baldre. Peruzzi Nico: del Abatte &c.’, the last of ‘15 to 51. All these remaining Drawings are of various old Lombard Masters with some Roman & Florentine.’
