After Polidoro da Caravaggio (c. 1499-1543)
Three vases in the antique style c.1525-50
-
A drawing of three vases, copied from frescoes by Polidoro on the façade of Palazzo Milesi, Rome. The designs correspond to the first three of the series of ten engravings by Cherubino Alberti (1582; see RCIN 905443-905452), but the designs in the present drawing are in reverse with respect to those, so they are not copies after the engravings. The style of the drawing is close to Baldassare Peruzzi.
