Follower of Federico Barocci (Urbino c. 1535-Urbino 1612)
The head of an old bearded man c.1650-1750
-
A drawing of the head of an old bearded man, three-quarters left, looking down. Popham (in P&W 1949) suggested the drawing 'may once have been by Barocci, but it appears to have been very much touched up, perhaps in the XVIII century'. However the drawing seems all of a piece, and the style and taste is that of the late seventeenth or even early eighteenth century.
