A portrait drawing of a woman wearing a widow's cap, half length, almost full face. It is laid down so that it is impossible to read the inscription which partly shows through from the verso.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810
