Attributed to Giovanni Balducci (Florence c. 1560-Naples after 1631)
The Supper at Emmaus c.1580-1600
-
A drawing of the supper at Emmaus. Christ is seated at a table, with two disciples; another figure standing at the left in a doorway; a landscape beyond. The attribution was F. Antal's (recorded in P&W 1949), based on a supposed stylistic similarity to a drawing in the British Museum (T.13,27) with an old attribution to Balducci; but the resemblance is not particularly close, and that drawing is now attributed to Poccetti. However no alternative attribution has been proposed.
