A study of a male nude seated to the right, with his left leg raised and his head turned away. He holds a stick in both hands and an animal skin is loosely draped over his back.
Provenance
Probably Carlo Maratta, and thus purchased by Pope Clement XI, 1703; by whom bequeathed to his nephew Alessandro Albani, 1721; from whom purchased by George III, 1762; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 106: probably one of fourteen studies listed as by Sacchi under 'Accademie di Diversi Autori')
