A drawing of Elisha, full length, walking to the right in a landscape. He is looking up at Elijah being carried up to heaven in a chariot pulled by two horses, which emerges from the smoke rising from the altar on the right. Inscribed below: . HELIAS . This drawing is from a series of thirty four scenes from the Old Testament which, with the exception of RCIN 904742, served as preparatory drawings for 33 of the 39 engravings in reverse by Johannes Sadeler the Elder (Hollstein , XXI, pp.96-7, nos.72-110), designed to illustrate L.Hillesemius, Sacrarum Antiquitatum (Antwerp, 1577).
