A drawing of Isaiah standing, full length, in a hilly landscape. He is holding a saw in his left hand and a pen in his right; there is an open book at his feet. Inscribed below: . EESAEAS . 1 , and lower left (partially cut): 25. This drawing is from a series of thirty four scenes from the Old Testament which, with the exception of RCIN 904742, served as preparatory drawings for 33 of the 39 engravings in reverse by Johannes Sadeler the Elder (Hollstein , XXI, pp.96-7, nos.72-110), designed to illustrate L.Hillesemius, Sacrarum Antiquitatum (Antwerp, 1577).
