A drawing of David, standing full length, in a landscape. He is wearing his crown and playing the harp. Inscribed below: . DAVID . and there are traces of a cut inscription, lower left. This drawing is from a series of thirty four scenes from the Old Testament which, with the exception of RCIN 904742, served as preparatory drawings for 33 of the 39 engravings in reverse by Johannes Sadeler the Elder (Hollstein , XXI, pp.96-7, nos.72-110), designed to illustrate L.Hillesemius, Sacrarum Antiquitatum (Antwerp, 1577).
