A drawing of Venus, reclining on the left as she is discoverd by approaching cupids, some of whom raise the drapery surrounding her. This is a copy after the left-hand group from the composition in the Salone, Palazzo Barberini, Rome.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c. 1800-1820
