A drawing of the three Marys at the foot of the Cross. This is a variation of a composition by Ciro Ferri known in two drawings (at Holkham and the British Museum), the former being connected with the altarpiece at Castel Gandolfo.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv. A, p. 113. 'A Crucifixion')
