One of three variant designs probably for the same fountain; supporting a shallow basin are two female tritons, each accompanied by a dolphin; with scales along the left and the lower edges. See also RCIN 904467, 904470.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv. A, p. 112, as by Pietro da Cortona: among 'Various designs for Fountains')
