A design for the back of a coach with allegorical figures of Faith, Fortitude and Truth. Putti with twin cornucopia project from the sides. The rear axel and wheels are lightly indicated.
A design for the back of the same coach, with small variations in the figure of Faith, is in the Gabinetto Nazionale per la Grafica, Rome, with an inscription giving it to Schor. Further designs of the same kind are at Düsseldorf.Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c. 1800-1820 (Inv. A, p. 112, as by Pietro da Cortona: among designs for 'Hind Standards of State Coaches')
