An outline drawing of a Roman cuirass decorated with a Hercules(?) figure flanked by two rampant griffins. The attribution to Bartoli is based on it's similarity to Bartoli's known drawings after the antique, e.g. those in the Vittoria volume at Windsor

First recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 110: as Carlo Maratti 'Studies from Antique Basso Relievo's' or 'From the Ancient Statues.')
