A drawing after a significantly damaged statue of a draped male figure, seen from the front. The Royal Collection has eighteen drawings by Maratti and his studio, after antique sculpture. Some of these are engraved in Jan de Bisschop's Signorum Veterum Icones, c.1672-89. See also RCIN 904389, 904391.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 109: amongst fifteen studies 'From the Ancient Statues')
