A drawing of the Virgin and Child, with a donkey being led to the left by an angel. This drawing and the painting in New Haven from which it was copied, have been attributed to Trevisani. It was formerly placed within the Maratta volumes. Inscribed, lower left: Carlo Maratti (in the 'deceptive hand').
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 110: 'Flight into Egypt')
