A drawing of an interior with the Virgin kneeling on the floor, whilst the Infant Jesus and St John amuse themselves with a book. St Joseph stands in the doorway in conversation with another figure. This composition was engraved by Bartolozzi.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 109: 'Holy Family')
