A drawing after three adoring figures from the tapestry of the Adoration of the Magi, designed by Raphael, hanging in the Scuola nuova, Vatican, Rome. These kneeling men with arms outstretched are from the left-hand side of the composition. See also RCIN 904299, 904301, 904302, 904308.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 109: 'Three more figures from the Adoration')
