A drawing after the head of a bearded man wearing a cap, from the tapestry of the Adoration of the Magi, designed by Raphael, hanging in the Scuola nuova, Vatican, Rome. This kneeling figure with mouth agape appears on the extreme right-hand side of the composition behind the figure depicted in RCIN 904308. See also RCIN 904299, 904301, 904307.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 109: 'Four Study's from the Adoration of the Kings & one from the Sacrafice')
