A drawing after the head of a bearded man, turned to the left, from Raphael's painting of the Transfiguration, in the Vatican Gallery, Rome. This figure, from the right-hand side of the composition, supports the boy possessed by demons. See also RCIN 904267.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 109: Tom. IV, 'Contains Forty two Drawings in Red Chalk, after the Paintings of Raphael in the Vatican at Rome')
