Studio of Carlo Maratti (1625-1713)
Two putti c. 1660-1700
-
A studio drawing after the figure of a putto, and a larger-scale head of another; the originals cannot be traced in Domenichino's paintings but their type suggests that they may be after a lost work by him.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810
