A drawing after the head of Bacchus, turned in profile to the right, from Raphael's fresco of Psyche received on Olympus, in the Villa Farnesina, Rome. Bacchus appears close to the centre of the composition. See also RCIN 904215, 904323, 904242, 904257, 904325, 904385.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 108: 'Of Heads, Madonnas...and two or three from Raphael')
