A sheet of studio drawings after Annibale Carracci's fresco of the Apostles around the empty sepulchre, formerly in the Capella S Diego, Church of S Giacomo degli Spagnuoli, Rome. The head is of St James, the foot of St John the Baptist, and the knee of God the Father. See also RCIN 904187, 904205, 904393.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 108: 'Of Heads, Madonnas...and two or three from Raphael')
