A drawing of St Francis kneeling at a wide crevice between rocks. He holds a large crucifix at his left side. This was engraved by Theodor Vercruys. A drawing of the same theme was engraved by Ryland in 1764.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 108: (?)'St. Francis, engraved by R. Van Audanaerd')
