A drawing of a young woman's head, turned three quarters to the right. This is a study of Jael for the mosaic of Jael and Sisera, in the second bay of the left aisle in the Aula della Benedizione, St Peter's. Other similar studies are in the Pierpont Morgan Library, and in the collection of H Spensley, Melbourne. A finished drawing is in the British Museum. See also RCIN 904103, 904435.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 107: among eight 'Study's of Heads')
