A drawing of St Sebastian, almost naked and seated with one leg raised and arms outstretched. This is a study for the painting of the Martyrdom of St Blaise and St Sebastian in the church of S Maria di Carignano, Genoa. It was commissioned for the church of S Carlo ai Catinari, Rome. Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 107: amongst 'Thirteen various Study's and Two Academical Figures')
