A drawing of Circe, seated on a throne on a dais as she is approached by several men, two of whom are metamorphosing into animals; in the foreground are various animals, pieces of armour and a bust of Pan The sorceress Circe is surrounded by the companions of Odysseus whom she has turned into animals, and whose clothes and armour lie empty on the steps before her. This is close to a drawing in the Uffizi, which appears to be of better quality. RCIN 904067 is an original drawing of the same subject. There is a related studio drawing in Stockholm.
