A drawing of a saint, seen from below, assisted heavenward by an angel and apparently stepping on the heads of cherubs. Corresponds with the group on the extreme left of Canuti's fresco of the Glory of Saints Domenico and Sisto, in the eponymous church, Rome. In the fresco the cherubs' heads are omitted. Probably a copy after Canuti's original drawing.

Probably purchased by Richard Dalton on behalf of George III c.1760; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv. A, p.20: among 49 drawings 'Mostly of Canuti...')
