A drawing of a female figure (Minerva?) standing to the left, gesturing to the heavens; to the right kneels another female, either offering a dish, playing a stringed instrument with a bow, or holding and writing on a large tablet; with an eagle between them. Oval composition. With an old inscription on the mount: Del Canuti.

Probably purchased by Richard Dalton on behalf of George III c.1760; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv.A, p.20: among 49 drawings 'Mostly of Canuti, about a fifth part of Franchesino. at the end of the Volume two or three of Gio: Giuseppe del Sole, and some Scholars of Carlo Cignani')
