The head of a woman 1625-75
-
A large drawing of the head of a woman, looking down to the left. The drawing comes from the Reni volumes and was catalogued by Kurz as School of Reni; Catherine Loisel suggested an attribution to Elisabetta Sirani (note on mount), which may well be correct. Boxed with Sirani for now.
Provenance
Listed in George III’s Inventory A, c.1800-20: p. 79, ‘Guido &c. Tom. 3’, among ’15 heads of Guido’.
